The Stable Peace Formula — Alignment Under Iteration

About the work

A structural definition of peace as a system property rather than an emotion. Given an intent vector A(t) and the system’s vector S(t), the directional misalignment cost D(t) = 1 − cos(A,S) measures internal friction. Stable peace is the convergence of this cost to zero under continuous iteration, while memory and constraints persist — the system no longer fights itself. Peace is not happiness, pleasure, or calm, all of which can coexist with misalignment and are therefore unstable. The limiting state, where alignment is reached and held (D(t) = 0 for all t beyond some t₀), is harmony — the lock-in that peace converges toward. Suffering is the observable effect of misalignment, and disappears as a byproduct when alignment is sustained. Peace is the convergence; harmony is the lock-in.
