About the work
Social Fasting is a conceptual framework and personal development practice created by the author to describe the intentional and temporary abstinence from social interaction, whether digital or in-person. Inspired by the logic of physical fasting, Social Fasting addresses the mental, emotional, and energetic overload that results from continuous exposure to external stimuli, conversations, opinions, and emotional exchanges.
The framework explains how external noise —generated by social interaction, media, digital communication, and interpersonal exchanges— inevitably turns into internal noise in the form of thoughts, reactions, emotional responses, and cognitive overstimulation. Social Fasting seeks to reduce both kinds of noise in order to restore clarity, self-connection, and internal calm.
This document includes:
a) the definition of Social Fasting
b) the conceptual foundation: nature, componentes, how external noise becomes internal noise, and the effects of Social Fasting in our own energy and clarity restoration.
c) a detailed preparation protocol for conducting a Social Fasting, including duration, intensity levels, and practical steps to temporarily eliminate social input
Together, this material constitutes the author’s original conceptual formulation and methodological approach to Social Fasting.A personal historical context describing the author’s use of the practice since 2019
A detailed preparation protocol for conducting a Social Fast, including duration, intensity levels, and practical steps to temporarily eliminate social input
Together, this material constitutes the author’s original conceptual formulation and methodological approach to Social Fasting, from the concept and practice she has been developing from 2019.
