About the work

The Durandir Technologies logo depicts one possible interpretation of the pommel of Durendal (known in the Spanish tradition as Durandarte), the legendary sword of Roland, the Carolingian paladin who fell at the Battle of Roncevaux Pass. The sword's name is often translated as "the unbreakable" or "the enduring." The logo also represents the Archangel Gabriel, who is said to have given the sword to Charlemagne so he could pass it on to his finest knight. The mark is also an inverted "D," the first letter of Durandir.
