About the work
"Every crate matters when rescue may never come."
After a catastrophic crash on the frozen moon of Teegarden, survival becomes a daily challenge.
Stranded hundreds of light-years from Earth and surrounded by the remnants of a forgotten battlefield, Lieutenant Mitsumoto must search the surface for whatever resources remain intact.
Throughout the journey, players will encounter scattered supply containers left behind by military operations, emergency deployments, abandoned expeditions and long-forgotten conflicts.
These pickups provide access to some of the most valuable resources available on the surface:
• Medical Supplies
• Oxygen Reserves
• Energy Cells
• Ammunition
Rather than treating these objects as simple gameplay items, the goal was to design them as believable pieces of equipment belonging to a larger civilization.
Each container follows the industrial design language of ISA exploration and survival technology, incorporating visual identification systems, modular construction and field-deployment functionality suitable for operations in hostile extraterrestrial environments.
The objective was to create assets that communicate their purpose instantly while remaining grounded within a realistic hard science fiction setting.
All assets were developed for Long Way Home, a narrative survival adventure set within the Eons of Evolution universe.
---
## Asset Breakdown
### Medical Supply Crate
Emergency medical equipment intended for first-response situations.
Designed for rapid deployment during rescue operations and combat emergencies, featuring reinforced protection and quick-access storage architecture.
### Oxygen Canister
Portable atmospheric support unit used by exploration teams operating in hazardous environments.
Its compact structure and visual identification markings allow immediate recognition during field operations.
### Energy Cell
High-capacity battery module designed to power shelters, equipment, communication systems and survival infrastructure.
Built around the same modular engineering principles shared across ISA technology.
### Ammunition Container
Heavy-duty military storage crate intended for long-term deployment and battlefield logistics.
Engineered to withstand extreme environmental conditions, transportation stress and prolonged exposure to hostile worlds.
---
## Design Goals
• Clear gameplay readability
• Immediate visual identification
• Modular industrial construction
• Consistent ISA technology language
• Environmental storytelling support
• Hard science fiction aesthetic
---
## Technical Information
• Unreal Engine 5.5
• Low Poly Game Assets
• PBR Workflow
• Base Color / Normal / Roughness Maps
• Optimized for Real-Time Rendering
• Gameplay and Environment Integration
---
In Long Way Home, survival is measured in resources.
Every oxygen cartridge extends the journey.
Every battery keeps critical systems alive.
Every medical kit offers another chance.
Every ammunition crate may become the difference between reaching home...
...or becoming another forgotten relic beneath the ice of Teegarden.
