About the work
This painting was inspired in our Lady of Guadalupe, for the international meeting of Mariachi and Charreria in Guadalajara. Our Mother Mary , our Mercyfull Mother Our Lady carries her little son in her shawl, holding him close to her Immaculate Heart in the eternal Now of our Heavenly Father, Father of all. I remember when I was 12 years old, I was hosted by families in Nebraska as part of a cultural exchange program. We traveled from north to south through several states until we reached Texas and spent our summer vacation with their family. I remember the beautiful landscapes, running through the northern fields, and the immense family joy in the south—so much fun, the cinnamon rolls, the family unity, and receiving a Texas star from a gentleman to wear on my lapel. Today I ask my Heavenly Mother, She who is the Star of the Sea, to hold me close to her Immaculate Heart and to dwell in my little heart that loves her so much, for she loved us first with and in her Fiat.
