About the work
This study reconstructs and empirically validates a non-metric generative geometric system underlying the classical Cremonese violin family (16th–18th centuries). Contrary to prevailing hypotheses based on fixed measurements, static templates, or theoretical acoustic scaling, the proposed model—Geometría Fabrorum (GF)—is relational and scale-independent. It is founded on the vibrating string length (T) as the sole generative magnitude and on the golden ratio (φ) as the unique geometric operator.
