About the work
Shadows of the Covenant
Def Ferrer presents Soft Lies, Hard Goodbyes Shadows of the Covenant
And in the halls where truth should reign, whispers rot into doctrine.
Cathedrals built on borrowed guilt
Veiling the ruins beneath their stones
Preaching the virtue of unblemished flesh
While feasting on the innocence they betrayed
A chalice raised to heaven's gaze
But filled with the blood of the unheard
Every hymn, a mask
Every blessing, a blade
And still you hide
Behind a scripture rewritten by trembling hands
As if eternity itself were blind to the stench of your covered
Shadows of the covenant
Your light was forged in deceit
Every prayer and echo
Every pardon incomplete
The fate is torn
And the silence bleeds
We will name the crimes to keep
I've seen the saints with predator eyes
Turning the sacred into a theater of shame
Forgiveness sold at the altar's edge
Redemption bartered like silver
The amnesia, the faithful
And I, I refuse to forget
The mirror waits
Yet you dare not look
It reflects not the devil you feared
But the one you became
Shadows of the covenant
Your life was forced into siege
Every prayer and echo
Every part are incomplete
The veil is torn
And the silence bleeds.
We will name the crimes you swore to keep.
If truth is the heresy, then let the heretics rise.
We are the chorus that will not fade, the memory you cannot bury.
Shadows of the covenant
Your reign dissolves with the dawn
The throne you built on bones
And lies will crumble into dust
The veil is torn
The silent screams
And you're
I will not cry for your moon, for the eclipse has already claimed it.
