You’ve seen shows in which strangers swap lives and are thrown into completely unfamiliar realities. But what happens when the disconnection is not between strangers — but between people who live under the same roof?
Because sharing a roof, or even a surname, doesn’t mean you truly understand one another. Some of the most painful conflicts happen within families, between siblings, in-laws, parents and teens, grown children and their caregivers. Relationships bound by love, but fractured by misunderstanding.
Family Reversal invites two relatives with a damaged relationship to do the one thing they’ve never tried: live each other’s life. For one week, they completely swap routines: running errands, going to work, managing the home, and filling each other’s shoes.
Throughout the experience, a professional family therapist offers guidance, reflection, and practical tools to support the emotional journey.
At the end of the week, the relatives participate in a symbolic final ritual where insights are shared, truths are spoken, and the relationship is either renewed… or resigned.
Because sometimes, the only way to change a family dynamic is to reverse it.
