Synopsis:

"Poles Inversion" is an epic fantasy that blends characters from global Christmas folklore, various mythical figures, entities, and natural forces into a disruptive epic tale, full of historical mythology, real events, and stories forgotten over time. In this fiction, the well-known figure of Santa and his fundamental concept takes on a completely different tone from the traditional one. The work evokes elements of a current-day Greek epic or tragicomedy, but replaces the Hellenic gods with entities from nature and Christmas folklore in their deepest spectrum, interacting with humans, animals, and plants; where the entire world, with its colorful beauty, becomes the stage for this story. The Earth, in its entirety, becomes a vast and dramatic Christmas stage, as part of the most imposing one of all: the Cosmos.

This proposal is not intended to be a Christmas story, although part of its structure is based on this popular celebration, its origins, and characters; rather it is, in fact, an odyssey of action and adventure that can be enjoyed at any time of the year. Therefore, it can be showcased at any moment, focusing its magic part on the phenomena found in the vastness of Nature and the Cosmos that contains it; which can be explained under the light of reason, with principles and laws unknown to the common people. Its plot incorporates very spiritual, mystical, fun, and even romantic sections, with messages included... it is a radically different version from the trited fable of Santa Claus, being entirely connected and intertwined with the Natural World; since the festivity we now call 'Christmas' has its roots in the ancient celebrations of Mother Nature and the Life that renews themselves in continuous cycles, along with the supernatural beings that sustain them.

With the experiences faced by the diverse characters of this intricate story, the audience will immersively feel part of the odyssey through their eyes; when they are forced to travel from Pole to Pole, crossing exotic and contrasting landscapes of our beautiful planet, rediscovering the macro and microcosm with its delicate balance that wrapss us. The viewers will become aware of the disturbance spread everywhere, precipitating us towards a global catastrophe.

In "Poles Inversion", the legend of the Christmas coal takes on a new, profound, and multifaceted dimension through the character of the Green Santa Yule. Unlike the conventional interpretation, where coal is seen as a punishment for misbehaving children, in Yule's original visión coal has a much deeper and more positive meaning. For the Green Santa, aligned with the natural world, coal was never a punishment. On the contrary, it was an essential gift that he offered to humanity—since its inception 12,000 years ago—to help them survive cold winters and dark, hostile environments without having to cut down trees or harm the vegetation, which is vital for the balance of the habitat. Yule reminded them from the beginning: "Plants and trees provide you with food, give you shade, settle the soil, purify the air you breathe, beautify the environment; and they are so generous that after they die, they fossilize turning into coal to offer you more blessings". This natural cycle, of green that turns black when fossilized, is the key to the connection between Yule and coal, which fully justifies he being known as the "Santa of Coal".

Over the centuries, the perception of coal drastically changed. As humanity disconnected from its natural roots, lost its innocence and became denser, this valuable resource came to be despised, associating it with dirt and poverty while misusing it. This distortion marks a turning point: Yule takes the coal, which once symbolized life and sustainability, and turns it into a symbol of devastation within his global extinction plan; for Homo sapiens this element, which once saved them, now becomes the catalyst for their possible extinction. On one hand, they themselves have overloaded the planet with their carbon footprint, polluting and degrading the environment to unprecedented levels; and on the other, Yule subtly and persistently encourages them to keep doing it, leading them towards their own end without realizing it. This self-destructive behavior reflects how humanity's values have been inverted at all levels of its culture, just as the Green Santa himself has "inverted his polarity", becoming a vengeful and devastating force. These are some of the reasons why the work is titled "Poles Inversion"; as a subtle call to reverse our aggressive actions, as well as the distorted beliefs and values. Coal, which was once a symbol of hope and survival, now reflects the decay of humanity and its disconnection from the natural balance that Yule had tried to protect from the beginning.
