About the work
Producida por Massimo PAstorelli para Roots & Souls Records
Where’s the lesson we learned, where’s the care in our minds?
People movin’ careless, leavin' reason behind.
Wasn’t it enough to see so much loss and pain,
Now we’re back on the streets, acting selfish again.
Put a mask on, brother, show some respect,
It ain’t so hard to give others some space to protect.
Why cough in the open, spreadin’ sickness around?
Where’s the empathy we lost when the lockdown went down?
See a cough in the crowd, and folks don’t seem to mind,
Steppin’ on each other’s health, like we’re losin' all sight.
Used to be mindful, used to keep safe and clean,
Now it’s like we forgot the whole deadly scene.
Put a mask on, sister, give respect where it’s due,
One small action can make a world safe for you.
Don’t ride the subway coughin’ out loud,
It’s time to think of others when you’re out in the crowd.
I thought we’d grow stronger, I thought we’d grow wise,
But some just don’t care, they’ve closed their eyes.
How can we move on if we’re actin' so blind?
Leave a mark of compassion, don’t leave it behind.
Put a mask on, brother, show some respect,
It ain’t so hard to give others some space to protect.
Why cough in the open, spreadin' sickness around?
Where’s the empathy we lost when the lockdown went down?
So let’s not forget, let’s not lose our way,
‘Cause we learned to be better, back in those days.
Keep the care in our hearts, like a seed that we sow,
Let’s move forward together, let’s continue to grow.
