Synopsis:
In a national theater, 28-year-old violinist David Jansen struggles under the harsh criticism of his father, Hans, while dreaming of musical success. After being promoted to lead violinist by the demanding director Thomas Stein, David faces the pressures of high expectations and personal insecurities.
Despite his great skills, a careless accident leaves David with a hand injury that Thomas claims has ruined his ability to play. Haunted by childhood memories of abuse, David’s frustration escalates when he feels overwhelmed by the prospect of being replaced by fellow violinist Ivana.
He will cope with fear and anger as he tries to be the best, entering a spiral of madness than makes him take decisions of self-destruction in the search for perfection. Everything he does from now on will have one single goal, receiving the recognition he deserves, even though this might be the last thing he does.
