About the work
Graphics are a "common and shared language"
A few days ago I saw this wonderful add for the AICP Awards at MOMA, for me was really explanatory and totally clear, but if you turned around to the MKTing area perhaps could not be understood… That's why they make fun of the situation! It's hard to make advertising using mkt sometimes; so the cross information is clear. MKTing is just wonderful and interesting, but "graphic are a language"... as this example in the add. Just kill my mood as an artist. LOL!
On this sense I gave some advices in LinkedIn…
https://bitly.cx/wMmg
And I want to focus on two important points that are related to my advices:
1) One is related with Kandinsky statement that artist are influenced by an era and they are affected as well by "the era". Same statement that exemplifies Canclini in "Hybrid Cultures" it's a "symbiotic relation" somehow... and in this way grows art movements and people are feed by them and artists are feed by people, of course! For God sake!
2) Graphics are a "common and shared language" for human beings before speaking...then talking. So, you can get to a broader audience. In this sense it's very important to be careful with the way we use graphics and how we can insist on continue stereotypes and cliches in order to be just "subtle" or "floppy"... On this sense I was very disappointed on some comparison between "Canva" (not a very broad tool for Professional Designers) and "Photoshop"... the killer of course was "Photoshop" with a wide variety of tools but the example was continuing "machista" stereotypes, not very good for a "woman designer who posted it".
So, as conclusión keep in mind what are you going to design and what are you going to show to your audience. It always has an impact on people and also the way they behave... If we want to talk about taking advantage of Graphic Design for a better human race. Graphics are not just lines and dots playing with colors and shapes... there is significance, and for that reason there are professionals on that as Umberto Eco, babies!
Graphic Design is a science keep that in mind!
Art is just soul and emotions and both Graphics and Arts are playing on the same track as marketing...
I cannot be carefree with some babies that have not choice of being posted on line, without permission! Keep on mind that parents!
Have a nice week!
P.S. Yes LinkedIn, I know what are you gonna say: "Our Logo is blue" Yes, but my slogan is "The passion for design"
