About the work

Reality tv meets fiction in this ground-breaking 12-week series in which children and families across France will participate in creating a new wonderful store in Paris, an emporium of foods and beverages with magical flavors, amusing names, often comical shapes. Their hero? Meet our protagonist:Meet Zazou Le Bon, a master of creating foods and beverages with exquisite and surprising flavors. Orphaned as a boy, cared for by the people of Paris, then championed by the students of the Sorbonne - he’s renowned for feeding students when they’re sick and out of money - they have convinced powerful people in Paris to create a show in children and families across France will present him possible products for his store, visiting a different town each week where audience members will not only be judges along with Zazou of which products make it into first ever shop in Paris, but also presenters of potential products. And he´ll invite children to send in their ideas. Anyone whose product is selected for the store – or children presenting inspiring, workable ideas - will be awarded a coveted Zazi. In the final episode in Paris on opening day of the store, which we´ve seen built in stages, one Zazi child will win their weight in store products, and Zazou will take on one lucky adult as his apprentice.

The Question: Can an entertainment show. scripted or reality, promote a business to a large audience that will exist at the end of that show, which that audience can not only can visit, but in which some or many of the products they inspired or licensed to the business?

Let’s say this business is a magical, new store, purely French in conception, and one which could be replicable, creating similar stores in other parts of France and the world in subsequent seasons. It stands to reason that profits from such a store promoted by a broadcast show would far exceed money made by the producer of the show itself.
