About the work
A splendid and majestic Christmas, typical of the Victorian era, was taking place in London. It was December 21, 1894, while Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson were having breakfast, they received a visit from the head of Scotland Yard, Lestrade and Patterson, and the brilliant detective didn´t even imagine that he would face the most important case of his career, and that at the same time, Irene Adler would consummate a coup against the British royalty.
In this regard, the most valuable jewel of the royal family, St Edward's Crown, was stolen from the Tower of London and there is little time left to prevent it from being taken to the European continent, and allow the Queen to exhibit it during the parade of the day 24.
At first, this event was faithfully kept in secret, but the countess of crime revealed it in the European newspapers and demanded her conditions to return the Crown. After several failed searches and unsuccessful raids, coordinated by the police authorities, and being on the verge of despair, Sherlock Holmes discovers a clue that leads him to interrogate the owner of the Mainor publishing house, and finally finds the precious Crown, being congratulated and decorated the officers and investigators who participated in this immense rescue operation.
However, despite the fact that Sherlock Holmes knows Irene Adler's motivations and was previously alerted by Watson that this crime could be a distraction to achieve another objective, Dr. Watson is disappointed because another crime of Irene Adler is discovered, which ends up definitively frustrating the joy of that Christmas…
