En el México moderno, Ernesto, un frágil y atormentado escritor de novelas de suspenso, luchará contra el dilema de abandonar los medicamentos psiquiátricos que le garantizan una aburrida pero estable realidad, o bien, dejarse arrastrar por el delirio artístico de su mente esquizoide para, por fin lograr la creación su obra maestra mientras goza el amor de Emilia; una enigmática mujer que aparece de repente en su vida, sin que esté o quienes lo rodean puedan afirmar su existencia.
La angustia de su hija y su exesposa que a la vez es su psiquiatra, se va a acrecentar cuando Ernesto deje su medicación y encuentre en esta nueva relación una estabilidad y una nueva motivación para continuar. El mismo Ernesto dudara de la existencia de este nuevo amor.
In modern Mexico, Ernesto, a fragile and tormented author of suspense novels, will struggle with the dilemma of abandoning the psychiatric drugs that guarantee him a dull but stable existence, or letting himself be swept away by the artistic delirium of his schizoid mind to finally create his masterpiece while enjoying the love of Emilia, an enigmatic woman who suddenly appears in his life, without him or those around him being able to confirm her existence.
The anguish of his only daughter and his ex-wife, who is also his psychiatrist, will only increase when Ernesto decides to stop his medication and finds in this new relationship a new motivation and stability to continue with his life. Even so, Ernesto will doubt the existence of this new love.
