Texas Ranger Bill Vents here. The year is 1888 and most of the west has already been won. But hidden here and there are remnants of the times past when life was a struggle on the frontier and many men were evil and prayed on others. The place is Mayweather in northern California and an unusual bunch of men have congregated at the request of the town mayor.
Mayor Rowdy Bates had called together four of his best friends to remember our lives as marshals, Texas Rangers and even bounty hunters. Thus begins seven days of campfire tales like nobody has ever heard. I take charge as the master storyteller, but the rivalry is passionate, and all five of us have our own stories to tell. And who better to record all that is said for the archives of history, but none other than Harold Stampede. The famous dime novelist from the Boston Harold.
Come and join us by the campfire tonight and be prepared to have the pants scared off ya. Remember the rooting tooting Wild West as we saw and lived it so many years ago. But I’ll warn ya now, our tales and lies ain’t for the weak of heart.
