When a virtuous African student in a prestigious British university loses her scholarship, she strives to fund her studies whilst navigating an unfamiliar lifestyle and a Dean addicted to the cunning owner of a high-end brothel. How far will Mai go to get a world-renowned British education? In Botswana, just like most parts of Africa, a British education is highly sought after, and Mai will do anything to get it. Moral Code explores whether an immoral act justifies a moral outcome. It also scrutinises the role that cultural values play in influencing our decisions. For Mai, these values are her strength as they make her hold education in high regard but they're also her weakness as they make her feel obligated to go into a life of prostitution to achieve this, despite her virginity.
