Scrooge McDuck is one of the most well-known, nice and popular Disney characters. However, he has hidden facets (many emotional deficiencies and family problems), can´t disguise his bad mood and treats people badly.
Even though McDuck is cunning, bold, skilled, and seems to be happy, he isn´t. Rather, McDuck has lost his way in life, almost nothing satisfies him, suffers from certain level of frustration, resentment and depression, and is a workaholic affected by burn-out and chronic dissatisfaction. In this regard, he isn´t satisfied with his new achievements and is always looking for more and more lucrative business. More than a winner, McDuck is a victim, who is not resilient, and hasn´t been able to find the meaning of life or direct it to achieve happiness.
In addition to this, within a complex personality (but similar to that of a postmodern human being, who seeks to enrich himself at all costs, and based in principle on that of Ebenezer Scrooge), McDuck is obsessed with his first coin and values it more than all his riches together. So: Why is McDuck so concerned about keeping his first coin?
