When Sam, a track runner and high school survivalist, begins showing signs of depression, her mother forces her to find new friends at school. She encounters Grant, the new kid, who invites her to her first high school party. She grapples with putting herself in social situations and bonds with two outcasts, Moustafa and Suki. Together, they learn about the history of Grant's family and realize the party is a front for something much bigger. Meanwhile, Sam’s siblings, Alyssa and Jordan, search for their missing friend after the police search bring inconclusive results leading them to a woman connected to this town's dark history.
