AI scientist Lucas (30s) spend his days as Head Of Code for a military tech contractor, and his nights trying and failing to get over his ex-girlfriend LEX (30s) - the love of his life.
When he discovers that his friend and colleague BRIAN has used their top secret tech to clone Victorian computer pioneer CHARLES BABBAGE (1791-1871), a desperate Lucas blackmails Brian into making him a version of Lex.
The plan backfires when 'ALT LEX' malfunctions, Lucas's conscience gets the better of him and the truth comes out. Rocked by the news that she's not the only version of herself, Alt Lex sets out to kill the 'original', forcing Lucas and Babbage to track her down.
When they do, what Lucas discovers will change everything he thinks he knows about love, himself, and what it means to be human.
