About the work
The commitment to maximum sustainability and comfort shapes Funda, a new range of
seats conceived by the outstanding designer Stefan Diez under the umbrella of creating an
innovative and light chair.
This new collection is presented as a construction made up of two differentiated pieces
that, thanks to its shape, simulate the gesture of two hands which embrace the user. The
development of Funda has been based on combining a metal structure designed to last over
time, and an upholstered seat that can be replaced after years of use or severe wear and tear.
Thanks to a technical fabric which can be used outdoor, in this case we simplify the usual
components of a chair (structure, seat, fabrics) to structure and upholstery, without losing it
resistance and comfort.
Funda represents the balance between precision and the human-centered approach of
Stefan Diez. His constant search for both industrial innovation and visual appeal has
achieved in this collection a curved and friendly shape, combined with an upholstery known
for its wrinkles.
In this way, Funda manages to evoke the maximum expression of comfort and makes
available the different pieces of the range to all types of environments: restoration projects,
homes, intermediate spaces and office meeting places, etc.
La apuesta por la máxima sostenibilidad y el confort dan forma a Funda, una nueva familia
de asientos concebida por el destacado diseñador Stefan Diez bajo el brief de crear una silla
innovadora y ligera a su vez.
La colección se articula como una construcción compuesta por dos piezas que, gracias a su
forma, simulan el gesto de dos manos abrazando y recogiendo al usuario. El desarrollo de Funda
se ha basado en la unión entre una estructura metálica diseñada para perdurar en el tiempo, y un
asiento tapizado que puede ser sustituido tras el paso de los años o el desgaste por un uso severo
permitiendo alargar el ciclo de vida del producto de forma indefinida. Gracias a un tejido técnico
apto para outdoor, en este caso simplificamos los componentes habituales de un silla (estructura,
asiento, tapizado) a tan solo estructura y tapizado, sin perder un ápice de resistencia y confort.
Este inteligente sistema facilita asimismo el reciclado independiente de cada uno de los
materiales que incorpora la colección.
Funda representa el equilibrio entre la precisión y el enfoque humano propios de Stefan Diez. Su
búsqueda constante tanto de la innovación industrial como del atractivo visual, han conseguido
en esta colección un silueta curva y amable, unida a un tapizado característico por sus arrugas.
De este modo, Funda queda a disposición de todo tipo de espacios: proyectos de restauración,
hogares, espacios intermedios y lugares de reunión en oficina, etc.
