About the work
This opus written in 2016 and titled Winter Morning, is a work for trio of rubbed strings, is of serialized character using a numerical series lacking diatonic or harmonic relations, obtaining an expository theme that moves away from the tonality. To develop this first theme applies the canonical imitation that overlaps this theme on itself with some melodic rhythmic variations in the lines that will do the imitation.
Then the second is minimalist in nature, considered more as a bridge for the composer, which creates a melodic row to reach the third section that consists of a toccata in a tempo of Presto, of a very arduous realization and a very difficult interpretation for the instrumentalists, it is built with a stubbornness of quavers in Staccatissimo as a continuous bass without interruption, on this basis an asymmetrical thematic material is superimposed in form Progressively increasing the tension in the work and getting an early climax soon after having started the work, Then a re-exposure of the first subject transposed a fifth diminished upward of the original interval to conclude this first movement in a rest and generating an anticlimax.
The second movement is constituted of a numerically serialized material like the first movement, using the theory of the sets, it is a fluid movement with a brief introduction and a small expository theme that opens way to a brief episode with themes That do not have a specific discourse, the main theme is presented again within the episode with certain variations; Then a brief Cadenza in charge of the cello, to lead to a coda that decreases the tension and culminates with the trio for rubbed strings.
Is a work of contemporary style, written at the end of Prelude.
