Alexandra Parker is a normal girl. So normal, in fact, that you would never look at twice. She doesn't have a size zero, or two or eight; she tends to swear like a sailor and drink like a fish; and she is stuck in a job that she despises, with a boss who despises her in return. Her only source of comfort are her TV and her two best friends, Andy and India, who help her navigate the turbulent waters of life.
When her boyfriend breaks up with her for the second time in one week, Alex decides it's time for a change. She will stop waiting for the Knight in Shining Armour to come around and learn to love herself instead. But how boring would life be if it always went accord¬ing to plan? Just when she decides that it's time to quit men, Alex finds herself meeting two incredible bachelors: a doctor and the CEO of the company she is working for.
Will Alex manage to juggle her job, her friends, her mother and two men at the same time? Or will it all come crashing down, forcing her to finally accept her future as a spinster and proud owner of seven cats?
