About the work
Zoe's (12) mother suffered a car-accident 3 years ago. Ever since, she is in a come. When a new treatment option comes up after long years of desperation, Zoe and her father David (37) move to the Lake District for the time being. Zoe hates the new environment, partly because she's lonely, but most mainly because she has given up on her mother a long time ago, regardless David's desperate attempts with alternative treatments. It all changes when Zoe hears the local myth about the "Baban", a creature that lives in the lake nearby and makes one wish come true for every person that sees it. When Zoe starts to investigate the case of the creature and finds out that the myth is originated in something very real and dangerous, she has to face her worst nightmares to make her wish come true.
