About the work
You come into my garden/ you think I am not there - But I'm there in the garden/ in the shadows’ cold still air
You're invading all my spaces /you’re taking all my time - You know that I remember you, you're always on my mind - Walk into my room
I watch you from my window/ I watch you from the roof. - I watch you as you walk to me, I watch you walk away
My arms, my body cling to you/ we cleave and drift apart: - Embracing shadows, I clutch in vain, a mirage that’s all my hope - Come into my room
Dance with me! O! dance with me, beside this weeping beech, - A dance we dance together, more eloquent than speech!
We could be lovers anywhere, through some chilly smile of fate. - And though my dance drags on for days, I hope that you can wait - A thousand years too soon
I hear your laughter everywhere/ all mine has come and gone - Sing to me. O! Sing to me / your peaceful midnight song.
I wish that I could talk to you/ find words that I could speak - But the wind that swirls around my head/sweeps my words into the sun - Safer than the sun
Is there yet no hope for me/ my questions go unheard - You know I cannot answer you/ this hot, this fevered bed
