About the work
This is the codebook designed and used by Ana I. Moreno to annotate the rhetorical structure of discussion (and/or closing) sections of empirical research articles as part of the crosscultural studies carried out in Phase 2 of the ENEIDA Project (2010-2014). It includes the following elements: the hierarchical list of communicative functions, or coding scheme, and their labels, and codes; definitions for each communicative function; and sample fragments performing each communicative function in the two languages, with highlighted signals aiding her interpretation, wherever possible.
