About the work
This is the song I dare not sing;
It is the dream I hide within my heart,
The fantasy I wish I could deny.
When I ’m alone, I am not honest with myself.
I shut my eyes and stop my ears,
And I never tell, I never tell the truth.
There is a desert in my heart.
There is no water, only sand.
The heat is sterile and it's dry, so very dry.
And I know that I am hiding in a shell
That has no windows and no doors.
It is a prison, but it’s safer than outside
There is a pain I feel inside myself,
It grows and coils around itself
I exhaust myself denying it, but it won't go away.
My poetry – expires inside me,
The passion burns out like a match, but
I prefer it that way, don't I? That’s my ‘choice’?
Perhaps it's true, perhaps it's not:
Maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong.
But I never tell the - never tell the truth
Memories, memories that blind me,
Confusion that misleads me,
But I never tell the … never tell the truth. …
It is the song I dare not sing,
It is the dream I hide within my heart,
In the darkness, I will try to understand.
It is the song I dare not sing,
It is the dream I hide within my heart,
In the darkness, I will try to understand.
