Cover Artwork for an American Progressive Rock Band from Chicago - IL, Sonus Umbra, sixth studio album "Beyond The Panopticon".
The album was available for pre-sale exclusively at their web store from November 17th to December 14th. The CD was be available in stores starting January 5th, 2016.
This Artwork is based on the band's album concept.
Quote from the band: "The idea is for this album is about an awakening - a man who thinks he is living on Earth, in the future, and enjoys researching the distant past of the 20th and 21st centuries. But in so doing, a glitch happens and he realizes he is not on Earth, but on a ship in space. Earth has long since been destroyed and he is one of the many survivors who have lived and died in outer space while the search for alternative viable planets. [...] This album is about this guy researching Earth's history, and in particular 20th century. The running theme here is loss."
"I would like a cover where a man is shown in exactly the position of your art for sale 161 [...] his head is exploding in some way.[...] His head could be turning into a swarm of butterflies but instead of the normal wings, they look like jigsaw puzzle pieces.[...]"
"Now, we tend to use weird eyeballs lying about in our Artwork, so whatever the scene you choose, having some eyeballs lying around here and there would be cool.[...]"
"In particular, perhaps to combine with the panopticon concept, he could be standing in the center of a courtyard[...] I had imagined the cover as the guy standing in the center of a courtyard, surrounded by windows or screens with eyeballs gazing down at him. [...]"
"[...] about the main character plugged in to a machine without realizing. So all the songs are about his fascination with 20th century. It is all about loss, as discussed earlier. Loss of love, loss of innocence and life, loss of hope, and of course, at the end with Channel zero, loss of identity, and waking up to the grim reality.[...]"
