The Ascent of Stillness" captures a moment where the ordinary becomes sacred — where the act of tea drinking transforms into an ethereal ceremony of the soul. Rising from the surface of a richly adorned cup, cranes take flight on spirals of steam, dissolving the boundary between the physical and the imagined.

The artwork draws deeply from East Asian symbolism: the crane — a revered emblem of peace, longevity, and spiritual elevation — emerges from a vessel inspired by traditional Japanese ceramic artistry, echoing the opulence of Imari porcelain and the philosophy of wabi-sabi, where beauty is found in stillness, impermanence, and subtle elegance

Rendered in a painterly style with flowing, brush-like textures, the piece invites reflection on the nature of escape — not through chaos, but through calm. It’s a surreal meditation on transformation, reminding us that within life’s quiet rituals lie hidden doorways to freedom, dreams, and transcendence.

This is more than visual art. It is a symbolic ascension — a surrealist ode to mindfulness, imagination, and the sacred art of pausing.
