Synopsis:
Tales of the Bad Night is an anthology film; A collection of folkloristic and unconventional fairy tales which uses different illustrative and narrative styles with a mixed technique that blends animation, illustration and live action actors.
The framework consists of a collection of short stories (the title of the work) which contains seven stories.
1) The Handbook of the Great Knight - A great knight tells us, in the form of an interview, how to become famous champions.
2) The Legend of the Krampus - A B&W story with a "made of ink" visual style, a silent visual narrative that traces the origins of the folk legend of the Krampus.
3) The Ballad of Slumber - A story told in the style of a music video (original song) about a Queen searching for a book to bring her son back to life.
4) Of Sand and Promises - The story of Morgana, a young girl in search of adventure who ends up imprisoned in an evil count’s sandcastle.
5) Rat's Town - The origins of *The Pied Piper* told in the German Expressionist style. A young piper is bullied by everyone, but his fate changes when he comes into possession of a flute capable of controlling rats.
6) No Man's Land - Two friends are fighting over two plots of the same land, sparking a never-ending cycle of “neighbourly disputes”.
7) Shadow & Sorrow - A queen, obsessed with a prophecy, has one of her two sons killed and locks the other away in a tower. But everything changes when, years later, the surviving twin reappears, seeking revenge.
