About the work
Irish Folk,
Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
In the misty morning light, he set sail from the bay,
With the salt upon his skin, he'd be gone for many days.
His wife stood on the shore, her heart filled with fear,
As he sailed into the unknown, her cries drowned by the sear.
(Verse 2)
Five hundred years have passed, the world has changed its face,
But his heart remained tethered to that distant time and place.
Then fate intervened, and their souls found their way,
In a modern world, where old stories hold sway.
(Chorus)
But he never returned, lost in the ocean's endless blue,
Leaving his love behind, with memories and rue.
She waved him goodbye, her tears blending with the foam,
A lonely Irish fisherman, lost on his watery roam.
