About the work

[Verse 1]

Outside, the world moves slow,
as if someone had turned out the lights.
Inside, grandma breaks a muffin,
the children laugh, sticky-fingered, having fun.

Two teenagers look at each other,
barely touching,
promising each other great things
with words that don't say much.
A man flips his tablet, pretending to work.
The coffee gets cold, he doesn't care, he smiles.

A girl bends down and whispers to her dog,
as if he's the only one who understands her.
He wags his tail, they come to an agreement,
happiness here, right now, it's real.

(Choir: Mmmm, Mmmm... Yeah)

[Pre-chorus (melodic, emotive)].

Nobody came to meet us,
but here we are,
sharing the air,
without saying a word.

[Refrain (danceable reggae)]

Same coffee, different lives,
the same warmth in different cups.
Time sits down, asks for something hot
and looks around.

Same place, no one is found,
but something holds us, makes us feel alive.
Let the rhythm move your feet
in this Coffee shop, tonight.

[Verse 2 (Rap)]

A couple sits, two screens between them.
They talk to someone unseen.
No fighting, no words, they just glide.
Like two songs playing side by side.

The man folds the newspaper, dips his biscuit.
He reads the news, takes it easy.
At the bar, no one is in a hurry.
Two bartenders dance,
the rhythms brush against each other.

Cups clink, names are mumbled.
‘Wait’, ‘Wait a minute’, ‘Don't worry’.
Life doesn't ask for permission.
Here, it lets itself be carried away by the rhythm.

[Pre-chorus (Soul)]

It's not my home,
but I feel it close
when the cold presses
out there.

[Chorus (Reggae - Danceable)]

Same coffee shop, different lives,
the same warmth in different cups.
Time sits down, orders something hot
and looks around.

Same place, nobody knows each other,
but something holds us, makes us feel alive.
Let the rhythm move your feet
in this snowy coffee shop tonight.

[Bridge (Soul / Spoken-Funk)]

Maybe tomorrow
won't remember the faces,
but right now
this place
keeps me moving.

(The rhythm continues, soft but present).

[Final Refrain (Reggae Funk - Maximum Rhythm)]

Same coffee shop, different scars.
Everybody learns, everybody moves
The cold doesn't come in
The door closes
One more moment, feel the groove

Same place, the light on
Even if outside it all falls apart
Let the beat carry your feet
in this coffee shop, tonight.

Same coffee, different lives
the same warmth in different cups
Time sits down, asks for something hot
and looks around
