About the work
I developed the name Geo-machina whist studying for my 3D design degree in 2012. During this time I became most interested in combinations of natural materials (Wood, leather, moss...) and of machinery (such as clockwork from watches etc) And I also developed a strong interest in Steampunk and the combining of old and new. Found and natural materials. Organic and manufactured parts in stark contrast. This is now the theme of all my work though I've moved into creating larger decorative multi-media fine art pieces also.
"Geo-" : a combining form meaning “the earth"
"māchina" : noun (genitive māchinae); From Ancient Greek μαχανά (makhaná, “machine, tool”
