The script was produced and brought to the big screen with none other than Karra Elejalde and K\u00e1ndido Uranga in the lead roles. Playing the antagonist and rounding out the main cast was Biel Dur\u00e1n. Kike Ma\u00edllo co-directed the film alongside Rodrigo, who served as the main director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An Audi Award for the Screenwriters of Future Films<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This unique award, sponsored by <strong>Audi (the festival&#8217;s official automotive partner)<\/strong>, has celebrated its sixth edition and is already preparing for its seventh. It aims to discover new talent among emerging screenwriters by producing the winning script into a short film. It is essential to remember that screenwriters are the ones who write the story we later see and hear on screen. Just days before the p\u00e9tanque championship where they hope to complete a hat-trick, having won the previous two editions, their third teammate, Ezequiel, dies. Faced with the indifference of the world around them, the two old players take possession of their friend&#8217;s ashes, along with a brand-new Audi that doesn&#8217;t belong to them, embarking on a peculiar &#8220;road short film.&#8221; The story connects us with nostalgia and the lives of two individuals largely forgotten by society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through a humorous lens, the short film portrays the everyday drama faced by older adults dealing with loss and societal indifference. Written and directed with respect and obvious affection, Rodrigo Olmedo delivers a solid, heartwarming story that moves and entertains in equal measure, primarily because it allows us to empathize with the characters and their unique way of finding belonging and purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Surrounded by Stars and Industry Professionals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The presentation event, packed with film and television stars, brought young talent and veteran actors together on the same carpet. We had the chance to chat with them after the screening. And, of course, being able to present it at the San Sebasti\u00e1n Festival was a deeply thrilling and rewarding experience thanks to the warm reception the film received. Without a doubt, it was the perfect finale to this journey<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most importantly, what this award proves is that we need to value screenwriters far more. Without them, there is no story. How the story is told, its coherence, and character development are all critical. Without a strong narrative foundation, a film is unlikely to endure or make an impact. Awards like this help uncover the screenwriters behind future feature films. Figures like Amen\u00e1bar, Medem, Lucas, or Spielberg all started with short films, a format that allows creators to demonstrate the quality and potential of their writing and directing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Commitment to the Future, Protected by Safe Creative<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Safe Creative has become the go-to platform for professionals and enthusiasts in the film industry.
